August Meeting

For those who couldn't make it, Christy had a great bag pattern and showed us how to make headbands.

Here's the link to the bag pattern.

The headbands were very simple, just a 4 1/2" strip of fabric (selvage to selvage). Sew it closed on one short side and the long side then turn inside out and stitch the last short side closed.

Alterations: Kelli top stitched hers to add interest, I put pointed ends on mine and Christy suggested sewing both short ends and most of the long side closed and then turn the headband right side out through the gap on the long side.

Christy's assigned quilt squares are a rail fence type square but with uneven widths of the rails. Here's a picture of what the squares are KINDOF supposed to look like:

The squares are supposed to measure 9 1/2". Just square it off when you reach that size.

Cute baby dress

Here's the dress that Elisa was talking about at quilting club that I made for Baby Emma.

Pattern: McCall's 5791, view E
Fabric: JoAnn's calico
Ribbon: Double sided pink, by-the-yard
Flower: Normal silk flower with fabric brad I found at Hobby Lobby
Alterations: I made the dress longer since I hate holding a baby with a dress up around their tummy!
